The first confusion is what really is the name of the year. Hevilambi is popularly known. It is listed in the sixty year names. Jyotisha shastras use this name extensively. Garuda purANa mentions Hemalambi. Both the names are acceptable.

Based on individual anusandhaana and manana, these words can reveal different meanings. I am giving below some interpretation for the meanings of these words. The scholars may give some other meanings and there is no restriction that only certain meanings need be taken. I feel that as long as that helps in remembering the great qualities of the Lord, it is fine.

'ellaroLage elladaroLage tattadrUpa, tadAkAra, tannAmakanaagi nelasihanu Sri Hari. avelladakku rUpaprada, AkAraprada, nAmakapradanu avanE.'.

The Lord Sri Hari is present in everything and everyone with that form, shape and name. In fact, he gives them the form, shape and name.

This leads to one doubt. The Lord being present in eternal objects is conceivable as he is also eternal. If He is present in non-eternal objects like a pot with that name, form and shape, when those objects get destroyed, what happens to the Lord's that form? Is that getting destroyed? If so, that attributes some vikAra to Him. If not how will that object get destroyed, then?

Only an eternal entity can give non-eternality to non-eternal and eternality to eternal.

Note the expression "khaNDAkhaNDa chitprachura". He is both khaNDa rUpa and akhaNda rUpa.

In our bodies also, He is present. When it is time for the body to get mixed with panchbhUtas, he makes that happen and there is no destruction to His form. That is when the process of "samshleshana-vishleshana happens". Meaning, He makes the khaNda Rupas and akhaNda rupas merge and separate in such a way that whatever process need to happen will happen. Same way even if the pot is getting destroyed, he makes the shape disappear.

To start with the Lord does not have any specific shape or form. He has none and He has all paraspara viruddha lakShanas possible in Him due to His achintyadbhuta shakti). He is nearer than the nearest and farther than the farthest. He is smaller than the smallest and bigger than the biggest. he is tallest and shortest, etc. Nothing binds Him and so the question of Vikara does not arise. He is not bound by anything.

Though smoke comes from the fire, we deduct the fire after seeing the smoke. Same way, though the Lord has all the names and gave names to the objects, after seeing the objects, we think of the Lord with those names. the original owner of the names is Sri Hari only.

When all the names are attributed to Him, our goal is to think of the special qualities of the Lord.

Let us first look at samvatsara - samyak vatsaan ramayati iti samvatsaraH - One Who renders great bliss to His dear children like Chaturmukha Brahma.

hevilambi - if we perceive avagraha here - he.avilambi -

vilamba means delay. vilambi means one who makes delay. avilambi means one who does not make delay. "he" is addressing the Lord. One doubt that comes to the minds of people is We perform actions at one point of time and the Lord gives fruits much later. So, He is delaying too much in yielding the fruits. But that is not so. He stacks them up quite appropriately. We are doing so many things and we may wish things to happen as per our desire. But we do not know what Is right. He alone knows it. So, He never delays. We may mistake that He does. So, truly He is avilambi.

What If there is no avagraha. - hevilambi - lamba means support. - Shree venkatesa mama dehi karaAvalambam - lambi means one who gives support. vilambi means visheSha lambi - One who is the unique supporter of all. "he" is addressing the Lord and vilambi is extolling His as the Great supporter of all.

Hemalambi - Hema means gold - lambi is supporter. One who is supporter of gold - that is upalakshana meaning just an example. He is the grantor of preciousness to all precious objects in the creation. Or Hema means Lakshmi and so he is supporter of Goddess Lakshmi. Hema is this BrahmANda itself. Like hiraNyagarbha - creator of this universe - Chaturmukha brahma. The Lord is supporter of this universe and also Chaturmukha brahma and so He is Hemalambi.

So, may such Lord Sri Hari, who is supporter of all and also grantor of true justice protect you all.
