Bhagavan who is present in our deha as purusha is also present with the name "kaala" and helps us in our sAdhana. Kaala in its entirety is beginning less and endless. It is nitya. Bhagavan gives this nityatva to this kaala by being in the kaala. This kaala-niyamaka Bhagavan is present in khanda and akhanda form in Kaala and its divisions along with Laxmi. Both of them are beyond the jaDa kaala.

In the divisions of kaala, Laxmi Narayana are present along Vayu and other abhimani devatas and regulates its functions. Because He is present in every divisions of kaala with His own names [which are non-different from His attributes], the Kaala and its divisions go by His various names along with Vayu.

In our vedic philosophy, though the time is beginning less, we take into account the "birth" of  current jiva who occupies the Chaturmukha post as the "beginning" of this particular shrushti. He lives for 100 Chaturmukha years. This period is called "para" and is divided into 2 portions -- prathama and dvitiya.

Time is relative and His 100 years equals our 31,104 thousand crore human years. If we take a day of Chaturmukha, it is 864 crore human years of which 432 crore years is His day time of 12 hours duration.
The day time consists of 1000 turns of 4 yugas [=mahayugas]. During the daytime, 14 manus rule for about 71 mahayugas.
Each maha yuga is made up of Krutha, treta, dvapara and Kaliyuga.
Each kali yuga is of the duration 432 thousand years. This is further divided into 6 shakas.

Currently, we are in the 51st year of Chaturmukha called dvitiya paradha, 7th manvantara called Vaisvasvata, and in that 28th turn of kaliyuga, in the 3rd shaka called Shalivahana Shaka.
In the vedic system, a group of 60 years make up one cycle. The years are reckoned on various parameters -- based on the movement of the graha controlled by Bruhaspathi or the 12 turns of 27 naxatras or based on the movement of the chandra or Sun.

Based on the movement of Chandra, we celebrate Ugaadi which is marks the beginning of this samvatsara i.e., the day when the first ascending phase of the moon [shukla paxa] is a month in which Chitta/Chitra naxatra is present during the fullmoon/pornami day -- is reckoned as "Chaitra" maasa Ugaadi of that samvatsara.

This new samvatsara called Jaya is the 28th out of the 60 samvatsara cycle. The vedic name for this month is Madhu. The dinAdhi pathi aka the very day it is started is seen as the ruler of that year. Thus Chandra is the ruler for the ENTIRE Samvatsara. Again, each year has 12 months and each month is ruled by a set of 7 "devatas".

Thus the Bhagavat Rupa is Jaya and He brings jaya -- mruthyunjaya in particular leading to jaya in all kaaryas. Though we are all "living", it is not really "living" as we constantly live with "FEAR" of the unknown and this is really "death" and not living. This happens due to our NOT realizing or forgetting the invisible hand of God as niyamaka in ALL. Thus, forgetting God is death. Even though we learn in shastra, we forget that whatever happens in life is as per our karmas and thus none can harm us in anyways as they are also in the same boat as asvatantra/dependants like ourselves.
Karma is jaDa and thus it is Bhagavan named Karma who is the real controller. Once we start to realize that this Bhagavan is inside us always, then slowly the fear of the unknown gets reduced. Thus Bhagavat jnana is the knife that can destroy the fear called ajnana with His help.

Bhagavan with the vedic name Samvatsara is present in Vayu to regulate the year. Along with them, this samvatsara abhimani is Chandra -- in Him, Bhagavan named Chandra stays and gives "inner joy". Chandra is said to be "born" from His mind and ears and with His anugraha gets the power to "prepare our mind" and ears towards God. Thus this year is very condusive for sAdhana and jnana-kaarya -- shravana and manana kaaryas.

The season of the year is Vasantha rutu -- Bhagavan is present with the name Vasantha and He is none other than Vedavyasa rupi Bhagavamn. He removes our "moha/viparita jnana" [aprabhodha\sampramoha Narayana Varma # 19]. The viparita jnana, i.e., understanding something in a completely opposite and wrong way so much so it leads to deep sorrow in the end. Vedavyasa not only removes viparita jnana that causes "moha" but also removes its consequence in the form of sorrow. He removes its very root cause aka paapa. He makes us "praamaanikaru" [truthful in mano-vaak-kaaya] and this is the  basic requirement to gain jnana of Bhagavan. To such praamaanika sajjanas, Vedavyasa gives correct knowledge leading to Sukha -- both in this world and in moxa.

The month is Chaitra -- The bhagavan is Chaitra, that is, the one who is connected to or having "Chitra". He is Chitra because, He is made of Chit+ra where chit is jnana and ra is ananda svarupa. He is Chit, ta, ra [ ta = vyapti/ananta = tanu vistare] as He is ananta/vyapta with His jnana ananda svarupa deha. Thinking Him along these lines while doing Sankalpa, He gives us similar qualities of knowledge and joy in this world and svarupa ananda in moxa as per yogyata.

The prachina/ ancient name for this month is "Madhu" -- bhagavan is Madhu meaning He is personification of Ananda in every grain of Him. He gives madhu/ananda to us. How so? The name "Madhu" also means "dhu = kampane or fear and "ma" means NO [not having] Thus He doesn't have any fear or such doshas and those who think Him as "Madhu" along these lines, their root cause [sin] is removed leading to fearless state. The fearless aka bhaya rAhitya leads to Ananda.

In Each month, again, He is present as niyamaka along with Laxmi and Mukhyaprana. For this month, His rupa is Vishnu along with laxmi rupa called Padmini. He has the color/prabha of rising sun [for us to visulalize] with Padma, Shanka, Chakra and gada [starting with upper right hand of "His"and moving clockwise].

This all pervasive Vishnu is Shrushtyadi sarva karta and to the knower of this name Vishnu, He removes the poison like fear in this life and also in samsaara leading to moxa -- this is one of the meanings of Vishnu.

Thinking Bhagavan along with Padmini rupa gives not only sadharana jnana but makes us Vidvan in shastra. Pujya Sri Sumatindra Tirtharu has given "phala" for every such Laxmi upasane along with the specific Narayana Rupa. Chanting even that section of Vijayarayara Suladi keeping in mind the corresponding 24 rupas [keshavaadi rupas] gives us jnana etc., sampat.

To administer, each month, He is present in the group of 7 "devatas" for each month. The seven groups is made up of:

1. Adityas [children of Aditi and Kashyapa]
2. Apsaras
3. Gandharvas
4. Naga
5. Rishi
6. Yaxa
7. Rakshasa.

For this month,  the 7 devats from these group are:

1. Dhata is the aditya,
2. Krithasthali is the Apsara.
3. Tumburu
4. Vasuki
5. Pulastya
6. Rathakrit
7. Heti

Last but the most important part is nitya panchanga shravana. Each day, again guided by the Lord with the names Tithi, vaara, naxatra, yoga and karana to give respectively:

1. Being in Tithi, he gives sampat -- needed wealth in this life ALONG with jnana -- wealth has to be always accompanied with correct jnana. If not such a wealth becomes undesirable in shastra.
2. In vaara, He remains by the name Vaara to give longivity - to do sAdhana.

For that, the main obstruction is paapa so,

3. With the name Naxatra, He removes paapa, and its consequence roga.
4. With the name Yoga, He removes roga and finally to give kirti.
5. He stays in Karana to give Kaarya Siddhi

This He does through abhimani devatas as discharging the duties is the seva that these abhimanis do to Bhagavan.

Thus, by thinking of all these devatas and their niyamaka Bhagvan in various sections of time, heps us to get rid of our past sins, and to remember Him in every action so that the present actions do not bind us in sorrow and help us to gain happiness both here and in moxa.

Shri KrishnArpaNamastu.
